18. Even when my image of God is incorrect or incomplete, God will make every effort to meet and accept me where I am.

How does the fact that God’s grace is always available to compensate for your relational deficiencies make you feel?

What keeps you from trusting that God desires to connect with you and isn’t concerned about you “getting it right”?

What do you feel God desires most for you?

What do you desire from God?

We have been exploring how our image of God shapes our relationship with Him. We have stated that our goal should be to enter into a relationship with God, through Jesus, that informs and shapes how we view God. Ideally, this image of God will grow to be more and more a true reflection of God and facilitate a deep and intimate relationship between us and Him.

Our image of God will always be less than perfect. What is important to know is that our imperfect images of God do not change God or cause Him to withdraw from us.

God so desires to be in relationship with us that He will continue to pursue and connect with us even with our faulty perceptions and understandings.
